Madurai celebrates 'Chithirai festival', 2nd phase of polling extended by 2 hours

Madurai (TN), Apr 19 (ANI): Locals of Tamil Nadu's Madurai celebrated annual 'Chithirai festival' with great pomp and show. The festival is celebrated in the month of April every year. Due to the celebration, 2nd phase of voting was extended by 2 hours for Madurai Parliamentary constituency on Thursday. 'Chithirai festival' is an annual celebration that marks the coronation of Goddess Meenakshi and the marriage of Lord Sundareswara and Goddess Meenakshi.
